Travelling is what people love to do in their free time. Whether it’s a trip to a seaside resort or a trek up in the mountains, most people enjoy going out of their own boring hometown and experiencing something new. Since most people do not have the time to be hassled with organizing their trips, they let travelling agencies do it for them, and they just pick a pre-arranged trip which seems appropriate for them.
With the advent of the Internet, this all became much easier for the customers, as they no longer have to trek from one agency to another. Instead, they can compare prices and services online. For this reason, it is extremely important to have an established online presence, and this is what I will talk about in this article.
Maintain a good website (or build one if you don’t already have it)
The first thing you need in order to properly advertise and convert marketing into sales is a well-built and maintained website. This is not something you should do alone, of course. Hire a couple of web-designers and have them work out an interactive, fun-to-look-at website. If you already have a website, but you do not rely much on it, I suggest that you start shifting your focus towards it.
You can put all your offers there, choose which ones will be featured on the front page, provide all the information about the packages, etc. Also, it is the first stepping-stone towards the other techniques I will mention here, as it is absolutely necessary for all of them.
Advertise on social media
Social media is where all the talk is. It is also one of the primary spots for people to get informed about what is going on in the world around them. And, most importantly, it is a huge market to advertise your packages.
Create a Facebook page, a Twitter account, a YouTube account and an Instagram profile. All of these networks are visited by a different clientele, so having those accounts will cover pretty much everyone. Then, you can create a strategy and perhaps hire a social media manager to assist you with putting that strategy into fruition.
And the best thing about social media advertising? It can be absolutely free. It can also cost a little to boost your posts, for example, but even if you do pay for that, the returns will surpass the costs by a large amount.
Use SEO to your advantage
SEO (Search Engine Optimization) is one of the most important things when it comes to advertising a travelling agency. And the sad thing is that I’ve rarely seen agencies doing it right. They all know it has to do something with blogs and something with links, but the way in which they go about it reeks of spam, and that is not good for your search engine rankings.
The best way to do this is to hire an SEO company and have them think out a plan for you. They usually know what they are doing and how to get you positively boosted. They also use other platforms, like social media, so they can combine the two for a more efficient advertising. If you are unsure who you can trust, you can always check out some search engine optimization company reviews and see what people have had to say about working with a particular company. This way, you will be sure that the company will be doing their best.
Update your blog from your travels
Having a travelling agency means that you (and your workers) will get to visit a lot of new and exciting places. Since this is the case, why not have your employees write blog posts about the places they’ve visited so far. This makes for a great promotion tool, as well as being informative. You can also keep your customers updated on the customs and regulations in the countries they will visit and even make a mini-series about it. All of it will surely pay off, as not a lot of money needs to be spent on this.
The online selling of travelling packages is in full swing. However, the Internet is still dominated by travelling agencies who do a poor job of their online advertising, and the only reason they are staying on top is because no one else has tried to do a proper job. So, there’s your chance. Do well and you shall definitely be rewarded.
